An unforgettable sports day was held at Ray Service, attracting more than 100 athletes (our employees) and an equal number of enthusiastic fans. This day was full of competitions, laughter, and team spirit, offering a wide range of disciplines where everyone could find something they enjoyed. It included five main disciplines: darts, bowling, disc golf, archery, and biathlon. Each of these disciplines brought its own challenges and fun, and the participants eagerly engaged in the competitions.

Darts were the first discipline of the day, where athletes tried to score as high as possible. The atmosphere was tense yet friendly, and every throw was accompanied by encouraging cheers from the fans.

Next was bowling, where teams competed to knock down as many pins as possible.

Disc golf was an unconventional discipline, with most athletes trying it for the first time. It wasn’t as easy as it seemed, but everyone had a great time.

Archery was another discipline that required precision and a steady hand. Athletes aimed to hit the targets as close to the center as possible, and several succeeded.

The final discipline was target shooting. The one who shot down five targets the fastest won the round. It was a real shootout, but everyone was excited to try such an interesting discipline.

The entire sports day was a great opportunity for Ray Service employees to meet outside the work environment, strengthen team spirit, and enjoy a day full of fun and competitions. The fans created an amazing atmosphere and supported their favorites throughout the day.

The sports day at Ray Service was undoubtedly a successful event that brought joy and unforgettable experiences to all participants.

A truly family day of fun, competitions and joy for all participants. The afternoon was dedicated to a trail that was created from various activities. First of all, everyone had the opportunity to see the VISC truck, make bracelets out of wires, participate in a quad battle or build a Boffin kit. As a side program we had face painting, coloring, robot cars or virtual reality.
At the end of the trail there was a reward. Everyone got a medal, a sweet tooth and a small gift. What was not to be missed was the ice cream for the children, the bouncy castle and the children’s disco. The joy of all the children was priceless. A big thank you to the organizers of Slovácké Summer who supported the whole event.

Pétanque
On July 3, 2024, a Real Family Day was held on the square in Uherské Hradiště together with a pétanque tournament Sahara Open, which was prepared by Ray Service in cooperation with Slovácké lét.
This year’s 15th edition of the pétanque tournament was once again unforgettable – even though it is a competition and everyone wants to win or grab at least points, there is always a good group with a healthy dose of rivalry but fair behavior. Plus, playing on the sand in the heart of the city is not something you get to do on a regular basis. The annual tropical marathon was dampened a bit by the rain, but it didn’t affect the game. This time there were 6 teams defending our colours. A total of 20 teams participated and, based on the draw, the game was decided in two groups. Then the best 10 advanced to the final group and the remaining 10 teams played the group of less fortunate.

Benefice
A fundraiser was also announced on this day to support the wife of our late colleague David Kubicik (maintenance) and their three children. Thank you very much for your contributions. Thanks to them, 65 065 CZK were raised. This amount was doubled by Ray Service and we were able to hand over a respectable CZK 130,130.

Spring break at our company is always full of fun for the children of our employees. From 22nd to 23rd February we have again prepared a interesting programme for them.

On Thursday, the little visitors had a tour of the company, where they learned what it looks like and what we do. After lunch, the VISC truck was on the agenda, which was a surprise for everyone. They finished the day with activities in our meeting room where games, competitions and fun were had.

Friday began with a short story time. The children listened to a story, had breakfast and made beautiful pictures. They then moved on to 3D printing again in the truck where the children learned about modern technology and created their own printable models and after lunch the children set about making cables on our special mock-up.

“I’m really pleased that my son can see the environment I work in and also try out what I actually do. We enjoy these days immensely and are glad the company allows us to do this.” Commented one of our female employees who has signed her child up for a Ray Service holiday.

In October, our company participated in the IDEB 2023 trade fair in Bratislava.  The fair started on 3. 10. 2023 with the opening ceremony and lasted until 5. 10. 2023. We had our own stand at the fair, where many visitors from the public came to see. We were also visited by many partners, and even the Slovak Minister of Defence honoured us with his visit.

On Wednesday 4. 10. 2023, Ray Service held a banquet where partners were invited. The banquet talked about various topics and included a great banquet that everyone enjoyed very much.

On Thursday 5. 10. 2023 our stand was visited by other visitors.

IDEB DEFENCE & SECURITY is a trade fair held in Bratislava and is a unique platform for the presentation of products and services for defence, security and rescue forces. The fair presents innovations and modern defence approaches, with a significant participation of representatives of security ministries and foreign delegations.

September is the month when the traditional ABR sports day takes place, which is intended for employees of Altech, BD Sensors and Ray Service. It is an event full of sports, fun and good mood, where colleagues from various departments of all the mentioned companies can measure their strength in disciplines such as petanque, beach volleyball, darts, ping pong, tennis, floorball, badminton or even in a knowledge quiz. The ABR Sports Day is also an opportunity to make new contacts and strengthen team spirit.

This popular event takes place in the “Sportpark Rybníček” in the Old Town and starts in the afternoon with the opening ceremony and the division of participants into teams. Individual disciplines take place simultaneously at various sports venues in the complex. During the day, refreshments are provided for all participants, and after the end of the competitions, the results are announced and prizes for the best teams and individuals are awarded.

However, the ABR Sports Day does not end with the announcement of the results, but continues with an evening program that includes live music, dance and free entertainment. The ABR Sports Day is an event that offers not only sports activities, but also a pleasant social environment where employees of Altech, BD Sensors and Ray Service can enjoy their time together and take a break from everyday work. We are still full of experiences and we are looking forward to the next year.

Our company Ray Service participates in the creation of the new project Region 2047. The aim is to retain young talents in the region and raise the level of vocational training. By 2047, the Region wants to build a campus for high school students to engage in research and production in collaboration with local companies.

Other founders are Aircraft Industries, ALTECH, BD SENSORS, COLORLAK, Česká zbrojovka, KOVOKON Popovice, MESIT holding, Rudolf Jelínek, Slovácké strojírny and also 5M. This project is also supported by the mayors of Uherské Hradiště, Staré Město, Kunovice and Uherský Brod.

And what did Petr Gabriel, the owner of Ray Service, have to say about it?
“Our initiative was launched in 2022. Even then, we said to ourselves that we wanted to give back to the region what it has given us. This is where we were able to live and build successful businesses, now we are ready to provide our experience and do something for the next generation. And because we are working with a development vision for the next 25 years, the name Region 2047 was created,”

The Pétanque tournament has been a part of the Slovácké léto festival for the fourteenth time. However, this year, for the first time as the Ray Service Sahara Open, it was included in the company event called the Genuine Family Day with Ray Service at Slovácké léto. With a full-day program for children and parents organized by our company, as well as a benefit for Míra’s rehabilitation and a better life, we started the collection for Míra from Březolupy right at Ray Service, and the whole event culminated in an evening concert at Masaryk Square. We raised 36,762 CZK, and Ray Service doubled this amount to a beautiful 73,524 CZK.

The Pétanque tournament was fully booked, and a total of 20 teams, including 4 representing Ray Service, competed. Our team, the Sharks, confidently stood on the highest podium and won the gold medal, with only one loss throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, at the Ray Service booth, technology lessons were taking place in the Technology Truck mobile classroom. Children were making bracelets from conductors, the youngest ones had their faces painted according to their wishes or were coloring pages, and parents compared their technical skills with their children by using electronic construction kits from Bofin.

On Tuesday, June 20, the Solemn Ceremony for the 30th anniversary of the Czech Republic was held at Prague Castle. “Democracy is a fragile flower that we must take care of to make it last,” the president stated in his speech. The ceremony also featured a toast with the highest state representatives. The toast was given by the President Petr Pavel and the chairman of the Jagello 2000 association, Zbyněk Pavlačík. We were privileged to participate and become a partner in this exceptional event.

We have developed a completely autonomous and very durable system for measuring and displaying physical quantities.

Based on a very specific assignment, we have developed an Anemometer set for measuring and graphically displaying the values of basic climatic variables. Thanks to the universal concept, this system can also be modified to measure and display more or less any physical quantity that can be sensed by a sensor with analog or digital output. The system is completely autonomous and very resistant to environmental stress. It can find use in a wide range of industrial and MIL applications.

Ray Service has joined the Whistleblowing project (in the Czech Republic under the name of a whistleblowing platform called NNTB). NNTB serves as an anonymous hotline, helping employees and the public to confide in the obstacles they encounter during work or cooperation. We undertake to investigate all such notifications and to rectify such objectionable situations.

There are several possible uses of the platform. Usually, employees or the public can send suggestions for improvements or use NNTB to notify us of issues that affect them or even their colleagues. That can include workplace bullying (mobbing, bossing, staffing, sexual harassment, etc.), discrimination, unpleasant work atmosphere, non-compliance with occupational health and safety and company regulations or guidelines, theft, fraud, property or reputation damage, damage to colleagues’ property, mental health issues (depression, anxiety, burnout, etc.), or even physical violence.

We stand on the threshold of major projects in the field of the defense industry, air defense systems, helicopters, and fighter aircraft. Globally, we are developing cooperation in this area with all the top players on the market, and the outlook for the next ten years is more than interesting.

These are the reasons why we need to grow and that is why we are building a new modern four-story building, which will have an automated warehouse with directly connected areas for production preparation, production areas, and offices for development and engineering.

The new building will complement the existing buildings in the Ray Service area and directly connect to the surrounding development, where it will be connected to these buildings on the 1^st-floor level. The concentration of all objects into one common unit is an economical and logical solution given the requirements and needs. The new building will offer work to approximately seventy people. It will be various professions, from workers in the field of development, engineering, and project management, through production mechanics and storekeepers to quality controllers.

The new Ray Service building will meet today’s demanding energy and environmental standards. The opening of the building is planned for the middle of next year.

This year’s Nato Days brings many novelties. One of them is the record representation of 22 countries. Exceptional will be the longest program of dynamic demonstrations where will be displayed about a hundred aircraft and a thousand pieces of ground technology, for example, TITUS and Pandur armored vehicles, to which we supplied fire protection equipment, complete cabling, and control boxes.

Furthermore, for the first time in the wider region of Central and Eastern Europe, the most modern Swedish tactical multi-role aircraft Gripen E. We are honored to be part of this spectacular event, the biggest security show in Europe.

On 10 May 2022 Ray Service and Rheinmetall signed two major contracts worth over €60 Million for the deliveries of electronical and electrical systems for the Lynx IFV. The contracts covers control systems, cable harnesses and lighting systems for the second phase of the Hungarian Lynx KF41 program of the Hungarian Army, worth more than €30 Million. Another package of around €30 Million is a fix pre-contract for the deliveries of Lynx IFV to the Slovak Army once Rheinmetall will be awarded in ongoing tender.

“Rheinmetall has great interest in real partnership with the Slovak defence industries and is experienced with the integration of local companies into the global supply chain. In fact, by signing this contract, the integration of Slovak industry into the Lynx supply chain has already started,” states John Abunassar, CEO of Rheinmetall Vehicle Systems Division.

Ray Service components and systems for the Hungarian Defence Forces will be produced in their facility in Skalica, Slovakia and then exported to Hungary. Ray Service will thus benefit from integration into the Lynx supply chain prior to the actual IFV tender evaluation in Slovakia.

“Besides we are already having an extensive cooperation with Ray Service for our activities in Germany and the UK, I’m happy that we can extend our cooperation to Slovakia and Hungary and hopefully other countries – like the Czech Republic – in the future,” adds Oliver Mittesldorf, Executive Vice President Sales Tactical Vehicles at Rheinmetall. Rheinmetall is competing for the modernization of the Slovak Infantry Fighting Vehicle and is therefore looking to expand the defence industry network in Slovakia.

“We are very glad to finalize our common work with Rheinmetall on the IFV Lynx, that included R&D, know-how transfer and lot of prototyping works, which has now payed off in biggest contract in company history. This will allow us to make further large investments into our facility in Skalica and will secure and generate workload for more than 60 people over next 5 years. On top of this we already started our process of VG96927 certification which will allow us to enter further global projects of Rheinmetall” states Igor Hrabovec – Managing Director Ray Service Slovakia. “With this giant leap we will build up real competence centre in Slovakia.” says Jakub Gabriel, CEO Ray Service.

The cooperation with Ray Service is only the first step for us to establish a local production network in Slovakia.”

The strategic cooperation ensures region-wide support from Ray Service for Rheinmetall’s innovative Lynx IFV platform. Ray Service contributes to Lynx and other Rheinmetall programmes through the supply of vitally crucial electro and electro-mechanic systems, as well as the localization of third-party equipment including NBC systems, fire extinguishing systems, turret drive systems and tracks and road wheels.

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) and Rheinmetall have jointly awarded a contract worth over £10m to Renvale Ltd to supply CAN-Node electro-mechanical boxes for the British Army’s new Boxer vehicles.

Renvale is working closely with Ray Service, a.s., who has supplied components for other international Boxer programmes. Ray Service is supporting Renvale with upskilling and technology transfer, and has recently begun production for prototype components ahead of the Boxer UK programme.

On 18 August 2021 RayService and Rheinmetall signed a contract for the production of electrical components in Slovakia. The contract covers cables and harnesses for the Lynx KF41 program of the Hungarian Army, worth more than four Million Euro for the first batch until 2022. Follow-on orders are expected. Hungary has ordered 218 Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicles by Rheinmetall that will be produced in Germany and Hungary.

Rheinmetall and Ray Service sign LYNX IFV strategic co-operation agreement

Rheinmetall, the manufacturer of the LYNX infantry fighting vehicle in contention for the Czech Republic’s ongoing IFV renewal programme, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Czech company Ray Service for current and future LYNX projects. The decade-long cooperation between the German and Czech companies has entered into a new phase expected to secure up to 50 jobs over the next five years.

The strategic cooperation agreement ensures region-wide support from Ray Service for Rheinmetall’s innovative LYNX IFV platform. Ray Service contributes to LYNX programmes through the supply of vitally important cable harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, and external lighting systems, as well as the supply of third-party equipment including Beth-El’s NBC system, Kidde Deugra’s fire extinguishing system, and tracks and road wheels from Defence Service Tracks.

Based in Staré Město, Ray Service started working with Rheinmetall in 2011. The company will support Rheinmetall through local content approaches in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.

“Taking our cooperation with Rheinmetall to the next level is fantastic news for Ray Service,” says Jakub Gabriel, Managing Director of Ray Service. “Working on the incredible LYNX platform has been an extremely rewarding experience, providing us with excellent challenges and opportunities for knowledge-sharing and research. Rheinmetall’s LYNX is a leading contender for the renewal of the Czech Republic’s IFV fleet with 210 next-generation vehicles. A fully modular platform, the LYNX can switch quickly between various battlefield and peace-keeping functions thanks to its high inherent degree of adaptability and flexibility. In 2020, the LYNX was chosen by the Hungarian Armed Forces for a similar IFV fleet renewal programme.

“LYNX is not only a lethal, modular vehicle for the modern battlefield and therefore the right choice for the Army, but also a huge opportunity for domestic industrial development and economic growth,” says Oliver Mittelsdorf, Senior Vice President Sales at Rheinmetall Defence. “Over the past 10 years, Ray Service have been an unfailingly reliable partner, delivering outstanding results time and time again. Rheinmetall’s commitment to the localization of production includes a pledge to use Czech components for more 40% of the LYNX KF41 if it wins the IFV tender. Other Czech LYNX suppliers would include MEOPTA, Česká zbrojovka and VOP CZ. The LYNX’s crucial Lance 2.0 turret system would meanwhile be built at Rheinmetall’s production plant in the Ústí nad Labem region, where it employs more than a thousand people.

The Czech company Ray Service, a leading manufacturer of cable bundles and electromechanical assemblies, signed another major contract at the DSEI Trade Fair in London. It will localise manufacture of filter-ventilation systems (EPCS) for military vehicles in the Czech Republic in collaboration with the Israeli company Beth-El. By signing this contract Ray Service will gain new capabilities and increase the potential of Czech industry to be involved in the manufacture of infantry battle vehicles in response to a tender by the Czech Armed Forces. The contract signed with the Beth-El Company is complex; it does not only affect current selection tenders.

The company, which is based in Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště, has developed into a major supplier of not only cabling for ground vehicles, but also for the aviation industry and is also promoting itself as a supplier of complex solutions. This is why the Beth-El company chose Ray Service as its partner for manufacturing EPCS systems in the Czech Republic. The contract was signed within the terms of the official programme at the Czech stand at the DSEI Trade Fair by Jakub Gabriel, director of the Ray Service company and Jehudah Fehlauer, head of international sales and marketing at Beth-El Industries.

Ray Service  was announced as one of the top 7 companies in the Czech Republic in the finals of the 12th annual business competition Vodafone Company of the Year 2017 which was held on Wednesday, December 6th at Žofín in Prague. Every year the “Hospodarske noviny” newspaper arranges this prestigious award. Fourteen regional winners then proceed to the national final and the jury decides on the overall winner.

Family-owned company Ray Service, a.s. has won the Vodafone Company of the Year 2017 Zlin Region award. “They participate in the development of defense technology, which helps to secure the Czech population,” said Martin Pudil, a member of the jury of Vodafone Czech Republic.

In the regional round, 10 companies were selected according to the financial indicators, in the next round the expert jury decided. There are 14 regional winners in the national final and the national jury will decide on the absolute winner. In Kunovice, on the 14th June 2016, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Ray Service, a.s. and the Swedish holding HANZA Group. The Swedish company included Ray Service into a loose group of companies that will work together. Customers thus have the option to order any product made of mechanical or electronic components as well as cable harnesses from a single company. The task of approximately 200 employees in Staré Město should be the production of cabling and the installation as well as testing of electromechanical assemblies.

Ray Service a.s. presents technological capabilities in overbraiding cable harnesses. Braiding is one of the possible solutions to the protection harness. Braids are offered in a version based on polyester fibers and also in the design of tinned copper wires for EMC wiring harnesses.

Technology of braiding machine is especially suitable for cable harnesses with complicated geometry. This solution provide EMC protection, mechanical resistance and easily harnessing. Braiding machines are equipped with up to 48 coils for sheath diameter range from 3 to 35 mm. The resulting braid provides good optical coverage.
